Petty Traders

They call them petty traders, but there is nothing petty about their contribution to the African economy. I am talking about the women who wake up early in the morning to sell food, clothes and numerous other items. These industrious women are the backbone of their families and their communities. So I was excited and honoured to spend one morning with a Boflot seller in Ghana called Esther.

Boflots are a special kind of flour based donuts in Ghana. I wish I could describe to you how delicious they are or how much I love them.Forget Krispy creme, Tim Hortons, Dunkin Donuts… Really forget them all! If you have not had Ghana’s Boflot, you have not tasted the best donuts in the world. Watch my hilarious escapade on http://vimeo.com/20700011
